In Mexico’s hospitality and tourism industry, work is highly seasonal, and gratuities make up a significant and vital portion of a crew member’s livelihood. If you feel your crew went above and beyond to make your day special, a tip is the best way to say thank you.
As a general guideline, a 10% to 20% gratuity is customary. Tips can be handed directly to your captain or main guide at the end of the tour. Cash is heavily preferred, and you are welcome to use either Mexican Pesos or the equivalent in US Dollars (small denominations are greatly appreciated!).
